MEDIA-TECH Expo 2008 – meeting the diverse needs of the industry
Frankfurt, Germany – April 29, 2008 // The MEDIA-TECH Expo this year will offer a variety of business and technology updates in a number of areas relevant to the optical media industry. First and foremost, the focus will be on high definition physical media – Blu-ray Disc – with presentations, demonstrations, and media manufacturing live on the show floor.
“The resolution of the format war has made it possible for people to start planning their business future in optical media, and we aim to showcase all the very latest in technology in Frankfurt,” says Bryan Ekus, the MEDIA-TECH Association’s managing director. “However, some replicators are being cautious about the extra investment required to produce the Blu-ray format, and these concerns have also been taken into account. We will also be hosting presentations, including the Sony DADC roadshow, and insights from the Blu-ray Disc Association, that will help both content owners and media manufacturers to understand the full potential of the format and how to capitalise on it.”
Expo will also feature technology and market updates on a number of related industries of interest to many Association members – photovoltaic; flash memory duplication; digital delivery and OLED. “We want to maximize the benefits that people will get from attending the show,” Ekus states, “and that means providing a range of information and expertise to help everyone explore a number of business opportunities.”
Above all, Ekus adds, the show is about meeting colleagues, customers, competitors and experts in the industry, and the traditional first night Networking Party is a key element of this. “Everyone who attends this event – which is free to all attendees – is invited to join the party. The Networking Parties have long highlighted the Expo as being the event where the industry really gets together.”
