Yawara Kaneko is President and CEO of TechnoConsulting, Inc., providing a variety of consulting services to companies in the Optical Data Storage Industry, and specializing in holographic storage systems. Before establishing TechnoConsulting in July of 2006, he lead several technical teams to develop high density holographic recording technologies, and Holographic Versatile Disc (HVD) media for three years with Optware. In addition he has been actively involved in developing holographic standards within the International ECMA technical committees (TC44), as well as co-chair of the HVD Alliance committee. He has made significant contributions in optics with leading technology companies including: Lightwave Division of Agilent Technologies for the development of a sampling oscilloscope for ultra high speed optical communication, Hewlett-Packard Laboratories-Japan for research of GaN based blue-green LED's and violet-blue lasers, Jochi University for the research of red visible semiconductor lasers, and Canon for the development of mask alignment and exposure systems for large display panels. He has a Ph.D. degree from Jochi University in Tokyo.
