Cédric Collard holds a degree in business engineering from the University of Liège in Belgium. Before joining the optical media industry, Collard worked on the dismantling project of a nuclear power plant at the SCK-CEN.
In 1999, he joined the Austrian-based disc manufacturer kdg mediatech (formerly KOCH Digital Disc) as project manager of Alcatraz (CD copy protection scheme).
In 2000 Collard joined the DaTARIUS Group with responsibility for technical marketing. In 2003 he released the DVD Signal Guide (handbook for quality control) and has contributed to all other DaTARIUS Signal Guides.
