Boris von Borman
Mr. von Bormann has been involved in the international trade industry for over 13 years. He attended the University of Dortmund/ Germany where he concentrated his studies on Management. He founded and partnered in Germany in the marketing firm “Ratioplan”, focused on selling trade show services and an in- house trade show system to the trade show industry. Upon selling his interests in Ratioplan, he then moved to the United States furthering his education and experience in marketing at the California State University at Long Beach. Prior to working with X-PROTECT, Boris von Bormann founded accessio, an independent consulting company that focuses on the cross- cultural business aspects. He was also involved as the CEO in the distribution company Premiere Style, which introduced beauty products out of the European market to North America. Boris von Bormann currently holds the presidency of the German American Business Association, a non- profit organization in Southern California and is the president of the board of directors of the Goethe Institute in Los Angeles. Since 2004, Boris von Bormann is a shareholder in X-PROTECT, which provides copy protection solutions for the entertainment industries. Mr. von Bormann is the President for North America for X-PROTECT running the US office out of Newport Beach, California. Mark Hollar
Macrovision - Mark Hollar, Sr. Director of Product Management for the Entertainment BU Mark Hollar is senior director of product management with the Entertainment Business Unit at Macrovision. In this role he focuses on Macrovision’s solutions for the motion picture industry, including content protection, security systems and electronic distribution. Most recently, he was intimately involved in the acquisition from Cryptography Research of the BD+ technology used for protecting Blu-ray Discs. Previously he was director of engineering, where he led teams delivering video security products for the motion picture, cable TV and satellite industries. He has also held a senior systems engineer position at Macrovision. Mark has more than ten years of experience in the media protection industry. He holds four U.S. patents in video processing, and watermarking technologies. His additional published patents include “Method and Apparatus for Determining Digital Audio/Video Content Distribution Terms Based on Detected Piracy Levels.” Prior to Macrovision, Mark was a senior design engineer at Ampex Corporation developing digital video algorithms and systems, and a U.S. Navy Officer operating nuclear reactors on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson.
